As of this writing, it has been five full days since the video
was released on May 20th. Even though the views have exceeded well over 3,000 per day
early on, they are still holding at an average of 2,000 per day over the long
haul. Nevertheless, there is a
suspicion that the numbers from YouTube are not as they appear, but are possibly
many times higher than what is being reported.
This is a common thread in the YouTube community. We are not the
first to question the way YouTube handles its viewing hits. Do a Google search
for YouTube view count wrong and you will see what I mean.
One thing is pretty obvious, ascertaining accurate viewing hits
is a total crapshoot with YouTube. When you go to the YouTube search window and
type in Smokescreen 2012, you will see the number of viewing hits in the
description, but when you go to the video, the number is seldom ever the same,
and can be up or down from the YouTube search description, by a lot!
YouTube will weakly try to say that the discrepancy is due to the
fact that their viewing hit counter cannot keep up with the overload of traffic.
Hmmmm... let's think about that one. They seem to be able to keep up with the
latest viral videos with stupid people stunts, or anything at all to do with sex
or scantily clad girls, but for some reason they can't handle the volume of
viewing hits for truth videos?
Really?
For one thing, the number of hits that they are reporting are not
enough to overwhelm their view counters, so what then is the real story?
Censorship?
If the hits are overwhelming the YouTube view counters, the
resulting numbers that are being reported so far do not back up, nor support
that claim.
With the help of three very prominent websites, we tested
the video counter after each site uploaded a version of the video to their
domain. Once posted, we tracked the hits. The
initial hits are quite frequent, best described in internet circles as
"viral." The initial average has been 150 to 200 viewings within the first 20
minutes, sometimes more, but then strangely enough, every site has had a sudden
unnatural drop-off
in viewing numbers after their debut with the video, as if the numbers were
being throttled back.
Viral videos do not just start out hot and then stop cold
instantly. That just doesn't happen.
At this point, it takes many hours for YouTube to report new
viewing numbers. They show the numbers increasing in moderate amounts, but
nothing overwhelming to their system, so why won't YouTube update the hit
counter for these videos after every single play?
Don't think for one minute that they can't. Their own historical
trending research proves that they can keep updated with the view counters, but
for some strange reason they supposedly can't keep up with a few websites that
they show to be adding but a few thousand hits per day.
The YouTube (and Google) juggernaut can't keep up with that kind
of traffic? Really?
Perhaps the numbers are far higher than what Google is reporting?
Perhaps they are coming in huge streaming bursts. That might explain the four to
six hour lag between updates, because they are physically adjusting the numbers.
Who really knows? Only the folks at Google and YouTube. The fact that they can
keep up with other highly viral videos, but can't keep up with this one is
suspicious for many reasons.
Commenting also appears to have been shut down, or
severely restricted. The sites with the most viewings have strangely enough had
their comments frozen. Many sites have had no new comments for days, even though
these YouTube sites continue to score numerous viewing hits.
Surely people are still commenting, but for some
unknown reason, there are no more new comments on the largest viewed sites.
Why is this? Did people just quit talking or is Google saying they can't handle
simple text from commenters?
One thing that is overwhelming about the comments though... they are 99.9%
positive. That's an incredible testament to the effect that this video is having
on people. It is clearly resonating with the populace and has proven itself to
be viral in nature, capable of spreading quickly from system to system through
email, and through the likes of Twitter, Facebook and other social media.
The only way to affect a hot trending video is to restrict its
viewership, or massage the hit counter, bumping the number of plays up or
down, depending on the result desired. They can hack voting machine results, so
does anyone really think they wouldn't manipulate YouTube viewing numbers, if
it fulfilled an ideological agenda?
There are numerous video sites featuring this video. Below is
just a small sampling.
To date, there are at least 70 websites that are
writing about or featuring
this video, plus, there are officially 25 YouTube channels that are now playing
the video as well.
The top three sites are the
ones that we tested against. These specific sites have the largest audiences by far,
literally in the
tens of thousands for daily readership.
Add to this the fact that a Google search (the owner
of YouTube) the first two days showed an initial posting of no less than 46
significant websites on the net, such as FederalJack.com, The FreedomLink (YouTube
channel), TheIntelHub.com, Digg.com, WhatReallyHappened.com,
ModernMilitiaMovement.com, Reddit.com, Tumblr.com, SodaHead.com,
TheDailyPaul.com, GodLikeProductions.com, 911Blogger.com, SGTReport.com, the
PrisonPlanet forum, and many other very high traffic sites, including overseas
sites such as theAussieDigger.com and NewsNow.co.uk.
Again, over 46 significant websites picked up the video in
the
first two days alone.
On the third day, the Google search mysteriously
changed from a fixed 50 page search to a 78 page search. Suddenly we could no
longer find all the websites that were previously listed the two days before,
however... what we did find were tons of hits for innocuous sites that never
came up during the first two days of searching.
The only way to describe it would be if someone put
the breaks on the search reference dealing with the Smokescreen 2012 video,
while at the same time increasing the sensitivity on the keyword search term of
"smokescreen." The difference of the search on the third day was
drastically different from the first two days.
Why?
Strangely enough, three new start up companies that deal
specifically in counting YouTube video traffic have been bought up and then had
their websites parked, as in, there is no more service. (FeedKey.com is one
example.) The buy-out and elimination of sites that specifically count YouTube
viewership is very interesting
to note.
One could make the assumption that someone does not want you
to have an idea on the live viewing stats of YouTube videos, or perhaps more
importantly, the censorship that is alleged to exist, a charge supported by some
industry insiders.
The purchase and
parking of these video statistics websites is a damning indictment that just
maybe indicates that there is an effort to prevent the public from knowing what
truly is a "viral" video and what isn't.
It's all about censorship, disinformation and propaganda. If your
message exposes a lie that threatens the powers that be, chances are your
video will never be allowed to show its true traffic, or it is banned
altogether.
As one ex-Microsoft executive explained, on the condition of
anonymity, "It's their sandbox. They can set the rules any way they want. Is
it ethical? Probably not."
So are we to believe that the internet Goliath of Google and
YouTube, with all of their expensive high-tech computer mainframes and their hardened
search algorithms can't get an essential key component of their service right,
a simple viewership hit counter?
This is the company that our government granted an
exemption to from strict federal rules that prohibit cookies to collect information
from visitors to federal agency web sites, so their YouTube tracking cookies are
pretty much allowed everywhere.
And YouTube tries to say that it doesn't have the
means to keep up with its viewing?
Seriously?
Excuse me for pointing out the obvious... this is a critical
statistic to keep track of, because the hit counter is clearly a vital key
to validate and help support YouTube's business model.
Does anyone really believe that they disregard this number, or
can't keep track of it?
While we're on that subject, how is it that YouTube has all but
hidden the latest rendition of the Smokescreen video that was posted from yours
truly,
negating it in any YouTube searches, yet somehow they are able to post the three
deadlinks for the early test videos that no longer exist on their server?
For a company whose bread and butter relies on the viewership of its
content, it is unfathomable that such an enormously well financed company (owned
by Google), with tremendous resources at its disposal, can't seem to keep track
of the simple viewing counter that sustains their product. Very curious indeed.
When we see a video go viral with the initial hourly numbers that
we've seen, yet then fall short when it comes to making the most viewed list on YouTube, while a video of some guy needing Facebook hits jumps to number one
with over 200-thousand hits... well, we have to wonder if all of those posts
circulating the net that criticize YouTube for censorship might have some
foundation and merit after all.
More investigation is needed. We will continue to watch and
monitor the statistics that come out of "GooTube." Watch this webpage for more

Update: This video was also
posted on Vimeo and there are now glaring discrepancies there as well. With all
of the overwhelming positive feedback from viewers on YouTube, it is quite
curious to see no "likes" on Vimeo. It was reported early on that there were
five immediate likes after posting the video, but strangely enough those have
been pulled down. The fact that there are only 18 views, after being posted on
the Occupy Oakland website, is quite curious indeed. Censorship lives in
America. Nice to see the message threatened the powers that be so much that they
had to resort to such lows as holding down the view count.

Teams With Studio B For Classic Re-Make Re-Make of the 1997 Baz Luhrmann Spoken-Word
Hit, With A Modern Twist

As one more way to reach people, NewsFocus, in conjunction with
Studio B, has produced a re-make of the 1997 Baz Luhrmann hit record,
"Sunscreen," but this time with an updated twist that deals with a
government gone awry, the US police state and the New World Order. The Op/Ed re-make
is titled "Smokescreen." The idea was to keep the tone and theme the same
as the original, but with new verbiage that dealt with the world as we know it
today.
Written and recorded by this author, the Studio B / NewsFocus
re-mix features two backtracks that were merged together as one.
The backing is the choral version of "Everybody's
Free (To Feel Good)," a 1991 song by Rozalla, used in the film William
Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet. The chorus, which also just happens to be from
"Everybody's Free," is sung by Quindon Tarver.
The original was recorded by Australian film producer Luhrmann
and narrated by Australian voiceover talent Lee Perry. It hit number 45 in the
US on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was number one in the UK in 1999.
The source of the original song copy came from a Chicago Tribune
columnist, Mary Schmich, who wrote a June 1, 1997 article entitled "Advice,
like youth, probably just wasted on the young." She described it as the
commencement speech that she would give if she were ever asked to give one.
It is hoped that the Studio B / NewsFocus re-make
might act as a new vehicle to spark talk and open discussion on the current
state of the country and the oncoming police state, with the focus on the plan
for a New
World Order run by the ultra-wealthy banking families. If people
don't wake up soon, they may never get the chance again, because it might be all
for not at some point here in the near future.
We are fighting to prevent that. Freedom must reign.
Our original Constitution must stand. We will not accept tyranny and rule by
crooked oligarchs. Any government that does not bow to "we the people" is a
treasonous affair. "We the people" are the true legal power, as laid out
by our forefathers and ratified by Congress.
Stand ready America, for tumultuous times are at
hand. We must hold our government officials accountable, lest they ever try to
hold us in contempt. We must take back our government, before it enslaves us.
And make no mistake about it, the 2012 NDAA and HR-658 are true threats to all of us.
Thomas Jefferson once said that an informed public
could govern itself. Step away from the mainstream corporate media and seek out
the unbiased alternative press so that you can be informed. Know the truth and
be free.
Be at the ready to protect our forefather's America,
because you won't like the rich, fat-cats idea for a new world order, an
oppressive fascist rule run exclusively by them.
Governments obtain unpopular ideals and agendas by
fooling the people, or coercing them through fear. They use the Hegelian
Principle to do so. The first step is to create a threatening crisis. The second
step is to wait for the desperate reaction from those inflicted with suffering
and seeking relief. The third
step is to offer relief, but through an unpopular plan that benefits those behind the
scheme. The idea is that the people will accept an unpopular political decision,
if it brings them relief from their own immediate plight.
Know one thing, our government does engage in
deception and
false flag attacks.
Former DOD head Robert McNamara admitted before he
died that the Gulf of Tonkin incident never happened. It was staged to give the
US a reason to enter Viet Nam. The New York Times reported that the 1993 World
Trade Center bombing was facilitated by the FBI, who provide the explosive and
allowed them to be detonated inside the WTC.
Make no mistake about it, false flag attacks
from our own government do happen.
It isn't our government that's bad. It's the few
unscrupulous people within that exploit strategic positions of power for their own
nefarious agendas, at our personal expense.
I cannot stress it enough... be alert... be on
guard... never underestimate a morally weak or crooked politician... and always
beware of the government smokescreen.
Ladies and
gentlemen, and the class of 2012… always beware of the
government smokescreen. If I could offer you only one tip for
the future, watch out for the “smokescreen” would be it. The
deceptiveness and long term dangers of a smokescreen have been
proven by investigators, whereas the
rest of my advice does have basis, and is backed up by my own
independent research.
I
will dispense this advice, now.
Enjoy
the right of freedom and liberty. Oh never mind, you will never
understand the right of freedom and liberty until it’s
threatened or taken away from you. But trust me, twenty years
from now you may look back and recall, in a way that you cannot
yet grasp now, about the threat that was before you, and how
freedom really felt.
You are not as weak as
you think.
Don’t
be cavalier with your future. Know that apathy and ignorance are
as helpful to you as trying to solve a Rubik's Cube with a
sledgehammer. The real troubles in your life are apt to be
things that never once crossed your gullible mind, the kind that
blindside you in a false flag disaster.
Do one thing every day
that enlightens others.
Talk.
Don’t keep the truth to yourself. Never infringe
on another man’s rights, and don’t put up with people who try to
infringe upon yours. Read. Don’t waste your time on the network
TV news. Sometimes you’re fooled, sometimes you see through the
lie. Always ask questions, because in the end, the facts must
answer to you.
Remember the pain you’ve endured… but forgive those who’ve
caused it. If
you can do that, you’re a better person than most.
Keep
your privacy… remember that FaceBook is nothing more than a CIA
affiliated data-mining operation.
Fight.
Don’t
feel guilty for not knowing the truth, but be damned if you
don’t seek it, nor spread it to others. Whatever you do, don’t
pat yourself on the back too much, or belittle yourself either.
Your perception has been deviously manipulated, but so has
everyone else’s.
Take
care of yourself. Your health is a gift that you’ll never
realize until it’s taken away from you. Be aware of big pharma
and GMO food.
Protect your body because it’s the greatest vehicle you’ll ever
know.
Laugh
out loud, even if it’s by yourself. Research the past so that
you can understand the present. Our forefathers crafted the
greatest country the world has ever known
A
Republic if you can keep it is what Benjamin Franklin said, but
those who who would give up liberty for safety deserve neither.
Since 9/11 the Republic has been captured. Horrific changes have
been made to our country. If you don’t see that, then you’re
watching too much television.
And
Don’t watch FOX News. It will only make you stupid.
Understand that humility, compassion and mercy are the greatest
virtues of all. Pride, envy and jealousy are the worst. Get out
of the left right political trap. It will only enslave
you.
Understand that freedom is not guaranteed. You have to be
willing to fight to keep it.
Truth
is stranger than fiction… and the victor always writes the
history.
Power
corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
A coup has taken place
in our country. That any man, woman or child can be arrested in
the US under the NDAA, and detained indefinitely without habeas
corpus rights or without trial, is an outrage.
The
enemy of my enemy is my friend. Now, if only the Tea Party,
Occupy Protestors, and the 9/11 Truth movement could embrace
that. United we shall stand, but divided we shall fall.
Treason is afoot. The US government was taken over in 1913 by an

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Oh, never mind. You
will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until
they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you'll look back at
photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how
much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really
looked. You are NOT as fat as you imagine.
Don't worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying
is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by
chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be
things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that
blindside you at 4 pm on some idle Tuesday. Do one thing every
day that scares you. Sing. Don't be reckless with other people's
hearts, don't put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss. Don't waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you're
ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long, and in the
end, it's only with yourself. Remember compliments you receive,
forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch. Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do
with your life. The most interesting people I know didn't know
at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives. Some of the most
interesting 40 year olds I know still don't. Get plenty of
calcium. Be kind to your knees, you'll miss them when they're
gone.
Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't, maybe you'll have children,
maybe you won't, maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance
the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you
do, don't congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself,
either. Your choices are half chance, so are everybody else's.
Enjoy your body, use it every way you can. Don't be afraid of
it, or what other people think of it. It's the greatest
instrument you'll ever own.
Dance. Even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living
room. Read the directions, even if you don't follow them.
Do
not read beauty magazines... they will only make you feel
ugly.
Get
to know your parents, you never know when they'll be gone for
good. Be nice to your siblings. They are your best link to your
past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few
you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography in
lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the
people you knew when you were young. Live in New York City once,
but leave before it makes you hard. Live in Northern California
once, but leave before it makes you soft. Travel.
Don't mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it
will look 85. Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient
with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia,
dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal,
wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for
more than it's worth. But trust me on the sunscreen.
